Expect Delays: Daytime Hutchinson River Parkway Lane Closure Scheduled

There will be lane closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway for several hours this week as contracting crews get to work on a maintenance project.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that there will be lane closures on the parkway between exit 27 (Purchase Street) and exit 28 (Lincoln Avenue) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Wednesday, Aug. 14.

During the project, motorists can expect delays in Scarsdale and Rye Brook, and have been advised to seek alternate routes. There will be detours posted.

"Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers," the NYSDOT noted. "Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license."
